RPA in healthcare

                     RPA IN HEALTHCARE

INTRODUCTION

Hi! Enjoying the weekend? This day I've been assigned a task. For that, it took me a whole day to finish my task. I've learned many stuff. From that, I would like to share some of them. I'm gonna talk about RPA - Robotic Process Automation. Let's see!

What is RPA?

RPA is a software that uses robots or bots to perform many tasks. It is like using AI & machine learning to accomplish huge and repetitive tasks. In the past, these tasks were done by humans which may increase the time and pay. Because of RPA, it can be done with less amount and with less workers.

FIELDS USING RPA

  • Banking and finance
  • Information Technology
  • Human Resources
  • Marketing
  • Insurance agencies
  • Customer Relationship Management

MISPERCEPTIONS about RPA

  •         RPA is not a physical form of robot; it is a software robot.
  •      RPA can perform many tasks but when it comes to creative thinking, it's not good as humans. Also, it cannot perform logical and competitive thinking as humans.
  •      RPA also makes some faults, all the time it cannot provide absolute results. As humans, sometimes it may become a fault.

MECHANISM OF RPA

Generally, RPA undergoes four major phases like
  1.  Planning phase - This is an initial step that gathers the information and prepares them for the tasks.
  2.  Development phase - It deals with the workflow that was already scheduled.
  3.  Deployment and Testing - The name suggests that in this phase, it checks whether the data entered was recognized and under the rules.
  4.  Support and maintenance phase - It checks that the product is developed and updated continuously with the consumers.
  5.  RPA needs one known user to perform the tasks.
  6.  To perform, it needs some RPA tools like blueprism, Pega, Workfusion, etc.,

USES OF RPA in HEALTHCARE

  •         Data Entry - As we know,  hospitals are always busy places that need more data to be entered and to be managed. For that, RPA technology is used to save the patient details in an efficiently and correctly.
  •      Medical billing - In the billing department, RPA technology is used, for billing the payment details like surgery charges, medicine charges, checkup fee, etc., RPA  performs calculations and total payment which is error-free and consumes less time.
  •      Automated patient Scheduling - Nowadays we can make appointments online using RPA. RPA helps to schedule and register the patient details and schedule a time for them with the doctor.
  •      Insurance eligibility - In hospitals, patients need insurance when they undergo surgery, for the eligibility checking for providing insurance can be accomplished with this RPA. It checks the patient details and verifies that with the server to provide it.
  •      Healthcare supply chain -  In hospitals, due to a large sum of tablets and medicines to be kept in stock for later use. For this RPA helps a lot to maintain the supplies and expires of the medicine, that could be maintained.
  •      Invoice - Generating invoices in hospitals is performed by this RPA technique. This was briefly illustrated in this video.
  • Off-care - This expresses taking care of patients who were treated and discharged (i.e.) The process completed. But like cancer patients, after discharge, some care is to be given like confirming their monthly checkups. These could be greatly achieved by RPA.

CONCLUSION

From there, I think I've delivered the details about RPA in healthcare. It is expected in the future, that there will be more advantages of using RPA in our daily life. From this, we came to know how RPA works and what it is right? Thank you for your time and for visiting this site.
